getting free to air from expressvu receivers?
i want to start using free to air type satellite systems as express vu is starting to piss me off and I am not a rogers fan. i know that there is a way to take my existing receivers and use them for free to air but I am not sure of all the details if any one can tell me how to go about all this it would be great. I am usually pretty techy i just don’t know where to start with this
There are four Bell ExpressVu Receivers in the market. Depending what you need, you can get High Definition (HDTV), Recording capabilities & Interactive options.

The only thing you can do for legal free to air with a Dish/Bell receiver,is to point to the satellites that use the SR/FEC hard coded into the receiver.
Last I heard, there was one at the satellite at 97W on Ku band, and you might be able to get NASA from Echostar 7.
FTA is NOT getting Bell programming for free. That is piracy and illegal. We don’t discuss illegal things here.
If you want to really start enjoying legal real FTA, get a real DVB-FTA receiver and Ku dish.
